The Desolate but Beautiful Peak of Santorini's Infamous Volcano
The Crater.
The island was once a cylindrical shape before the catastrophic Minoan eruption blew a hole in the center of the island to reshape it into a crescent chape in approximately 1500 BC. The whitewashed buildings and dramatic cliffs make for one of the breathtaking vistas in all of Greece.
